Unions representing workers at the Régie Autonome des Transports Parisiens (RATP) have called for a strike from 22:00 (local time) on Thursday, September 12, through 07:00 on Saturday, September 14, to demand better pension pay and rights. The strike is due to affect bus, metro, and rail services in the Île-de-France region, including in Paris.
If the strike is held, public transport disruptions and an increased demand for alternative means of transport are expected in Île-de-France. More information can be found here from Wednesday, September 11.
Individuals in the Île-de-France region, and France more generally, are advised to monitor developments to the situation, anticipate public transportation disruptions, and plan alternative modes of transportation.
