The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has called for "human chain" protests in Dhaka on Wednesday, September 11, demanding the release of party chairperson Khaleda Zia. Zia was imprisoned in 2018 on corruption charges. Participants are expected to gather at the BNP central office in Naya Paltan, and outside the party chairperson's office in Gulshan.

A heightened security presence and localized transportation disruptions are likely surrounding all protests.

Individuals in Dhaka are advised to monitor developments to the situation, avoid all protests and demonstrations as a precaution, and adhere to all instructions issued by the local authorities.
