Women are protesting in Port Harcourt as of Wednesday, September 18, to denounce the serial killing of women in Rivers state, as at least eight women were reportedly murdered in various hotels in the past two months. Protesters gathered at the NUJ premises on Moscow Road at 07:00 (local time). A heightened security presence along with localised traffic disruptions are likely in the coming hours. Further protests are possible in the coming days.
