UK-based British Airways pilots represented by the British Airline Pilots Association (BALPA) have called off a strike which was scheduled to take place on Friday, September 27. In a statement released on Wednesday, September 18, BALPA said it will now "change its approach" in an effort to end the dispute with British Airways.

As of Wednesday, no negotiations have been scheduled between British Airways and BALPA. The union has threatened further strike action should British Airways "refuse meaningful new negotiations."

British Airways pilots held a 48-hour strike on Monday, September 9, and Tuesday, September 10, forcing the airline to cancel almost 1700 flights. Around 195,000 travelers were affected by the strike and flight disruptions continued through Wednesday, September 11.

Individuals traveling with British Airways are advised to monitor the situation and confirm their flight reservations.
