A United States drone attack in Khogyani district (Nangarhar province) reportedly killed 30 civilians and wounded dozens of others on Thursday, September 19. Local officials in Nangarhar province claim that the victims were farmers working in a pine nut field. US officials confirmed that the strike's intended target was an Islamic State (IS) group hideout. Further details are still emerging.
