The Union of Drivers of Colombia has called for an indefinite transportation strike as of Monday, September 23, to protest the government's decision to revoke licenses of 45,000 drivers in a new policy shift. Participants include truck and taxi drivers, as well as inter-municipal employees.

The associated march will begin at 04:00 (local time) in Bogota at four central points: Avenida El Dorado and Avenida Ciudad de Cali; Avenida El Dorado and Avenida Boyacá ; Avenida El Dorado and Avenida 68; Avenida El Dorado and Avenida NQS

Related protests are likely in other urban centers and in the coming several days. Significant transportation disruptions are to be expected across Bogota. Protesters are likely to erect roadblocks throughout the city and may block access to roads leading to Bogota International Airport (BOG). A heightened security presence is to be expected throughout the day.
