The Naga Students' Federation (NSF) and Naga students unions are holding a rally in New Delhi as of Wednesday, September 25. Students gathered at 14:00 (local time) in front of Mandi House before marching towards Jantar Mantar. Naga students are demanding a prompt political solution for the two decades-old Indo-Naga peace talks over sovereignty in Nagalim (northeast India). A similar rally saw around 3000 participants in New Delhi on Saturday, February 23.
Members of the India Union Muslim League (IUML) have also called for an opposition rally in Jantar Mantar on Wednesday, without disclosing further details on the schedule.
A heightened security presence and significant traffic disruptions are likely around the protest site.
Individuals in New Delhi are advised to monitor the situation, avoid all demonstrations as a precaution, anticipate a heightened security presence, and adhere to all instructions issued by the local authorities.
