Activists have called for a nationwide strike and protests on Friday, September 27, to demand increased government action on climate change. More than 30 rallies will also be organized across the country.

On Friday, rallies are expected in Hyderabad, Maharastra, Amalapuram, Rajshahi, Ludhiana, Kerala, Kolkata, Agra, Jaipur, Bangalore, Goa, Chennai, Ajmer, Kanpur, Sarnath, Allahabad, Manjehri, Thrissur, Nagpur, Delhi, and in Mumbai, where protesters will gather at 05:30 (local time), in front of the Navi railway station.

Additional rallies may occur on Saturday, September 28, and Sunday, September 29. Heightened security measures and localized transportation disruptions are anticipated around all protest sites.


Activists are organizing rallies around the world on September 27 to demand more effective government action on climate change issues.


Individuals in India are advised to monitor the situation, avoid all protests and demonstrations as a precaution, anticipate localized traffic and business disruptions and a heightened security presence near demonstration sites, and adhere to all instructions issued by the local authorities.
