Police officers to protest in Bamako on September 27; heightened security presence and associated disruptions expected

Police officers are scheduled to protest in Bamako on Friday, September 27, to denounce the killing of a police officer in Niono (Segou region) during a protest on Thursday, September 19. Participants will gather at 08:00 (local time) at the General Directorate of the National Police and march to the Prime Minister Boubou Cisse's office, via the Ministry of Security and Civil Protection.

A heightened security presence and localized transport disruptions are expected near the protest site.  


Individuals in Bamako are advised to monitor developments to the situation, avoid all protests and demonstrations as a precaution, and adhere to all instructions issued by the local authorities.
