Unidentified gunmen killed at least 16 people in two separate attacks in Bam province's villages of Komsliga and Dénéon on Saturday, September 28.
Similar attacks are possible in the area over the coming weeks.
Terrorism has become an increasingly severe security threat in Burkina Faso since 2015. Educational institutions, local government officials, and security forces are specifically targeted.
