The E Zingo Biani opposition coalition has called for a march in Bangui on Monday, September 30, to demand the resignation of President Faustin-Archange Touadéra among other grievances. Participants plan to gather at the Place des Nations Unies on Barthelemy Boganda Avenue, and then march to the city center. Organizers did not immediately announce a meeting time.
A heightened security presence and localized transport disruptions are expected along the march route. Counterprotests are possible. Clashes between security forces and protesters are also possible.
Individuals in Bangui are advised to monitor developments, avoid all protests and demonstrations as a precaution, anticipate associated transportation disruptions, and adhere to all instructions issued by the local authorities.
