Residents of the Uyuni municipality (‎Daniel Campos Province) have called for an indefinite strike as of Monday, October 7, to defend the area's natural salt resources. They also wish to call for higher royalties from companies that uses natural lithium from the territory.

Associated marches and protests are to be expected as of Tuesday in Uyuni, though also in other urban areas in Bolivia as residents call the nation to protest alongside them.
