Thameslink officials are reporting significant disruptions to all services as of 08:45 (local time) on Wednesday, October 2, due to damage to overhead electric wires between St. Pancras International and London Blackfriars. Although engineers have repaired the damage, delays and cancelations are expected until 14:00 on all services. Thameslink officials have announced no service to or from East Grinstead, or in the Sutton area, and significantly reduced service between:
- Cambridge and London
- Peterborough and London
- Brighton and London Bridge
- The Redhill area
- Kent routes to Sevenoaks, Orpington, and Rainham
Significant delays and cancelations are expected in the coming hours, as well as an increased demand for alternative means of transport.
Individuals in London, and in southeast England in general, are advised to monitor developments to the situation, allow additional travel time, seek alternative routes or modes of transportation, and adhere to instructions issued by local authorities.
