Storms in Poland have left one person dead and 18 others injured as of Tuesday, October 1. Firefighters reportedly made an estimated 6000 trips to assist in cleanup and flooding incidents. Further, power outages have also reportedly affected about 27,000 homes across the country. Rain is expected in some parts of the country on Wednesday, October 2.
Business and transportation disruptions are to be expected over the coming hours as power is restored and floods recede.
Individuals in the affected areas are advised to monitor developments to the situation, avoid areas directly affected by flooding, confirm road conditions prior to setting out, conserve power on battery-operated devices, prepare for disruptions to transportation and business, and adhere to all instructions issued by the local authorities.
It is important to note that that walking or driving through floodwaters can be dangerous; 15 cm (6 in) of running water is enough to knock over an adult.
