The Extinction Rebellion (XR) environmental group has called for a rally in Canberra on Monday, October 7. Participants are expected to gather at 10:00 (local time) in front of Albert Hall before marching across Commonwealth Bridge from 11:00 to 16:00. The rally will then head towards the Parliament House.

A heightened security presence and localized transport disruptions are expected near the protests and march.


The Extinction Rebellion environmental group has organized disruptive protests around the world since November 2018 to demand increased action to address climate change issues. XR is planning a series of international protests starting the week of Monday, October 7.
