Employees of the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) called for an indefinite strike across the state of Telangala starting on Saturday, October 5. Unions representing TSRTC staff have expressed 26 demands, including pay revision, job security, and merging with the government, but talks held with state officials on Wednesday, October 3, failed to address their concerns.
On Friday, October 4, authorities have called for private bus owners and for drivers to help ensure bus service during the Dussehra holiday on Tuesday, October 8.
Associated protests and transportation disruptions, as well as an increased demand for alternative means of transportation, are expected across the state during the strike action.
Individuals in Telangala are advised to monitor the situation, anticipate delays and cancelations, allow additional time to travel during the strike, and avoid any associated street protests as a precaution.
