Shooting near Trieste police station leaves two officers wounded October 4; heightened security presence and localized traffic disruptions expected over coming hours

A suspected robber shot and wounded two police officers in front of the Trieste Police Headquarters, between Via del Teatro Romano and Via Bandena, shortly after 17:00 (local time) on Friday, October 4. A potential accomplice of the shooter was also wounded in the shootout between the suspected robber and police. Police have cordoned off the incident area to foot and vehicle traffic.

A heightened security presence and localized transportation disruptions are to be expected in the area over the coming hours.  


Individuals in Trieste are advised to avoid the affected area, report suspicious objects and behavior to the police, and adhere to all instructions issued by the local authorities.
