Swiss International Air Lines cancels several flights as of October 16; further flight disruptions likely

Swiss International Air Lines has canceled at least 50 flights as of Wednesday, October 16, due to ongoing technical inspections on aircrafts, leading to the grounding of its entire Airbus 220 fleet. Affected destinations include Geneva (GVA), Zurich (ZRH), and Heathrow (LHR) airports. The company has announced on Wednesday that normal flight operations are expected to resume on Thursday, October 17, as most aircrafts have been inspected and cleared for departure. 

Residual flight disruptions, including delays and cancellations, are possible over the coming days. 


Individuals traveling with Swiss International Air Lines are advised to confirm their flight reservations and to contact the airline for additional information.
