The National Association of University Student Executive Bodies (BEM-SI) has organized a march in Jakarta on Monday, October 21, calling for the government to adhere to their demands. Participants began gathering at 13:00 (local time) at the Patung Kuda (Horse Statue) and plan to march to the Merdeka Palace. At least 1500 police officers were deployed to the area.

A heightened security presence and localized transportation disruptions are likely along the march route. Clashes between police and protesters cannot be ruled out.

Individuals in Jakarta are advised to monitor developments to the situation, avoid all protests and demonstrations as a precaution, and adhere to all instructions issued by the local authorities.
