Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's Liberals party will retain its power following a Monday, October 21 election, though will no longer hold a majority. Trudeau will therefore remain Prime Minister. The first-past-the-post system has granted the Liberals party a victory, with 33 percent of the vote and 157 seats, while the Conservative party brought in 34.4 percent and will be allocated 121 seats.
