The 44th annual Marine Corps Marathon will take place in Washington, DC and Arlington (Virginia state) on Sunday, October 27. Approximately 30,000 runners are expected to participate in the race with thousands of others attending as spectators. The Metro will open at 06:00 (local time) on Sunday morning and provide additional service on the Blue and Yellow lines. The Arlington Cemetery Station will remain closed until 08:30 on Sunday. Several roads, including the Key Bridge, and sections of Route 110 and the George Washington Memorial Parkway, will be closed along the marathon route in Arlington and DC on Sunday (map here). The race is slated to begin at 06:00 between the Pentagon and the Arlington National Cemetery along Route 110, with road closures beginning as early as 03:00 and continuing as late as 18:00 on Sunday.
