Fire and emergency officials in Auckland announced at approximately 13:00 (local time) on Thursday, October 24, that the fire at the SkyCity Convention Centre is now under control. Firefighters remain at the scene and are expected to begin recovery efforts over the coming days to look for hotspots. According to officials, it is unclear how long the process will take.
