A fire broke out on a Karachi-Rawalpindi Tezgam express train on the morning (local time) on Thursday, October 31, in Punjab province. The incident occurred near Rahim Yar Khan as the train was traveling to Lahore from Karachi. At least 16 passengers were killed and another 13 injured in the incident. According to initial reports, the fire broke out after a gas canister being used to cook breakfast exploded. Rescue operations are ongoing and officials have warned that the death toll may rise as more information is received. Rail service disruptions are also anticipated in the area.
