Farmers coalition calls for nationwide protests on November 4; heightened security presence and localized transportation disruptions expected

The All India Kisan Sangharsh Coordination Committee (AIKSCC) farmers coalition has called for nationwide protests on Monday, November 4, to demand that the government excludes agriculture or withdraws from the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) free trade agreement. Hundreds of thousands of farmers are expected to gather at district and lower administrative offices around the country and burn the effigy of the RCEP document, according to local media outlets. 

A heightened security presence and localized transportation disruptions are expected near all protest sites.
