Residents in Wad Madani, located in the eastern Al-Jazirah province protested on Sunday, November 3, to call for the dissolution of the National Congress Party, formerly led by President Omar al-Bashir, who was ousted in April. Protesters also called for the resignation of the local governor appointed by Bashir.

Related protests are possible over the coming days and weeks across the country.
