Teachers in Paraguay have called for a two-day strike on Tuesday, November 12, and Wednesday, November 13 to call for more investment in the sector and for the government to fulfill certain agreements, among other issues. On Monday, teachers will hold an assembly to discuss their grievances. On Tuesday, a nationwide mobilization has been called. Participants in Asunción will gather as of 08:30 (local time) at the Plaza Uruguaya. They will later march to the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Finance, and the National Congress.
Associated protests have been scheduled in other departments. Associated transportation disruption and security presence are to be expected along the march route and gathering points.
The Chamber of Deputies will discuss the 2020 budget on November 13.
Individuals in Paraguay, and Asuncion in particular, are advised to monitor developments, avoid all protests as a precaution, and expect transportation disruptions.
