Event Hundreds of protesters reportedly gathered outside the Parliament building in Kuwait City on Wednesday, November 6, to denounce the government's perceived inefficiency and corruption, as well poor public services in the country. According to media reports, authorities have allowed the protest to take place. The initiative was not led by any political movement but was called by former lawmaker Saleh Al-Moula on social media. Current and former Members of Parliament have reportedly joined the protest.
Further associated protests are possible in Kuwait City and other urban centers across the country over the coming days. Clashes between protesters and security forces cannot be ruled out.
Individuals in Kuwait, and particularly in Kuwait City, are advised to closely monitor the situation, avoid all protests and large public gatherings as a precaution, and adhere to all instructions issued by the local authorities.
