The Mongolian National Front is calling for a demonstration in Ulaanbaatar on Friday, November 8, to demand political changes. Supporters are being asked to gather at Sukhbaatar Square from 11:00-18:00 (local time). A similar rally was held on Thursday, November 7, with over 70 civil society organizations participating and protesters blocking roads around the square. However, the Ulaanbaatar city administration ordered the group to disperse because they failed to have the demonstration approved in advance.
A heightened security presence and localized traffic disruptions are expected around the protest site on Friday.
Individuals in Ulaanbaatar are advised to monitor developments to the situation, avoid all potential demonstrations as a precaution, and adhere to all instructions issued by the local authorities.
