Flight disruptions expected in Chiang Mai International airport (CNX) ahead of the lantern festival November 10-12; 151 flights rescheduled or canceled

Flight disruptions are expected at Chiang Mai International Airport (CNX) due to the Loy Krathong and Li Peng celebrations (lantern festival) scheduled to take place from Saturday, November 9, to Tuesday November 12.

A total of 66 domestic flights and 30 international flights have been canceled for security reasons between Sunday and Tuesday, and an additional 44 domestic and 14 international flights were rescheduled.

A heightened security presence and residual flight disruptions are expected during the festival. 


Individuals flying via CNX are advised to keep abreast of the situation, confirm the status of their flights prior to departure for the airport, and to contact their airline for additional information.
