On Thursday, November 7, the National Center of Meteorology (NCM) issued an alert for fog formation and consequent poor visibility for several areas including a red alert for the Ajman and Sweihan areas of Abu Dhabi. These adverse weather conditions are expected to last until at least Sunday, November 10, potentially affecting flight operations at Dubai (DXB) and Abu Dhabi (AUH) international airports.
Furthermore, a severe weather alert was issued regarding heavy rain and thunderstorms for the Sharjah, Fujairah, Ras Al Khaimah, Umm Al Quawain, and Ajman emirates from Saturday, November 9, through Tuesday, November 12.
Heavy rains, thunderstorms, and associated disruptions including road closures, flight delays and cancelations are possible over the coming hours and days in the affected areas.
Individuals in the affected areas are advised to monitor developments, prepare for residual disruptions, and adhere to all instructions issued by the local authorities. Remember that walking or driving through running water can be dangerous - 15 cm (6 in) is enough to knock over an adult - and that floodwater may contain chemical products and wastewater; all items having come into contact with floodwater should be disinfected and all foodstuffs discarded.
