As of Tuesday, November 12, an exceptional high tide has flooded parts of Venice, causing stores and businesses to be inundated with water. Venice's tide forecast office warned that an even higher tide was expected on Tuesday evening (local time) as further rainfall impacts the region.

Lingering disruptions to transportation and business are to be expected in Venice over the coming days.

Individuals in Venice are advised to monitor local weather reports, adhere to instructions issued by local authorities, confirm road conditions before setting out, and anticipate disruptions to transportation and business in flood-affected areas. Remember that running water can be dangerous - 15 cm (6 in) is enough to knock over an adult - and never drive through flooded streets; floodwater may also contain wastewater and chemical products.
