A roadside bomb struck an armored vehicle in Sheikh Zuweid (North Sinai province) on Sunday, November 17, killing three members of the Egyptian security forces and wounding four more. No group immediately claimed responsibility for the attack.

A heightened security presence is expected in Sheikh Zuweid over the coming hours. Similar attacks are possible in North Sinai over the near term.


The operations come as security forces continue to carry out counterterrorism raids in the area under the auspices of "Comprehensive Operation - Sinai 2018," which aims to neutralize militant and terrorist groups operating in the Sinai, Nile Delta, and the Western Desert.
