Activists are planning a protest in Windhoek on Tuesday, November 19, to oppose the use of electronic voting machines (EVM) in the upcoming presidential and parliamentary elections scheduled for Wednesday, November 27. Participants are due to gather at 08:30 (local time) at Katatura Magistrate Court. Over 100 people participated in a similar protest on Saturday, November 2.

A heightened security presence and localized transportation disruptions are expected near the protest site. 


Individuals in Windhoek are advised to monitor developments to the situation, avoid all protests and demonstrations as a precaution, and adhere to all instructions issued by local authorities.
