Police forces used tear gas and batons to disperse a protest held by supporters of the Movement for Democratic chance (MDC) opposition party in Harare on Wednesday, November 20. Protesters had gathered in front of the party's headquarter, located on Nelson Mandela Avenue, to listen to a speech by their leader.

A heightened security presence is likely in Harare, notably on Nelson Mandela Avenue, in the coming hours. Further protests are possible in the coming days; clashes between supporters and security forces cannot be ruled out.

Individuals in Harare are advised to monitor the situation, avoid any related public demonstrations as a precaution, and adhere to instructions issued by local authorities and their home governments.
