On Monday, November 25, concerning air quality levels were again recorded in Lahore (Punjab province), with an Air Quality Index (AQI) reading of 158 at 14:00 (local time). Officials have indicated that unhealthy air quality levels are expected to continue through at least Sunday, December 1, despite a reported air quality improvement in the city on Friday, November 29.


Hazardous air quality levels prompted authorities to ask all public and private schools to remain closed on November 22.

An AQI reading of 0-50 is considered good, 51-100 moderate, and 101-200+ unhealthy.


Individuals present in Lahore are advised to monitor the situation, limit outdoor activities until the situation normalizes, and wear N95 rated masks as a protection. Children and those with chronic respiratory illnesses should exercise increased caution. Individuals are advised to seek medical attention if experiencing breathing difficulties or other health concerns.
