Multiple militant attacks and security operations took place in Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday, November 26. Indian security forces kill two Hizbul Mujahideen terrorists in Pulwama district during an operation near the village of Drabgam. According to officials, the engagement occurred during a cordon and search operation which started on the night (local time) of Monday, November 25. At least two people were killed and four wounded after an improvised explosive device (IED) detonated in Anantnag district. Another three people were wounded in an explosion at the Sir Syed gate of Kashmir University in Srinagar on Tuesday afternoon. No group immediately claimed responsibility for the attack.

A heightened security presence and localized traffic disruptions are to be expected in the affected area over the coming hours. Similar attacks are possible in Jammu and Kashmir over the near term.

Individuals in Jammu and Kashmir are advised to monitor developments, avoid the area of the attacks, remain vigilant for militant activity, and adhere to all instructions issued by the local authorities and their home governments.

Some Western governments advise their citizens against travel to parts of Kashmir, notably including areas along the Line of Control (LoC), due to the significant risk of violence.
