Metropolitan Police Assistant Commissioner Neil Basu announced that a stabbing attack that took place in London at approximately 14:00 (local time) on Friday, November 29, is being treated as a terrorist incident. The suspected assailant, who was reportedly wearing a fake explosive vest, wounded several people in the attack before being shot dead by police on London Bridge. London Bridge, Borough market, London Bridge station, and surrounding areas remain locked down as of 17:00 (local time) on Friday amid ongoing investigations. All rail service has been suspended at London Bridge station.
