Power and transportation disruptions are ongoing throughout the northeast region of the US on the evening (local time) of Tuesday, December 3, as a severe winter storm moves north into Canada. Over 80,000 customers in the states of New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and New York were without power on Tuesday. More than 370 flights were also canceled on Tuesday across the New England region. Dangerous driving conditions and hundreds of accidents were reported in multiple states, including Massachusetts, New York, New Hampshire, Vermont, and Maine. Some areas received over 61 cm (24 in) of snowfall in recent days and removal operations are ongoing throughout the region.

Residual transportation and business disruptions, including flight delays and hazardous driving conditions, are expected into Wednesday, December 4.

Individuals in areas forecast to be affected by the storm are advised to monitor local weather reports, confirm flight reservations, prepare for winter weather, and anticipate transportation disruptions, including flight delays and adverse driving conditions, and power outages.
