A 24-hour strike is also scheduled for December 13. Significant public transportation disruptions are expected throughout Madrid if the work stoppages are held.

An associated strike was held in Madrid on Tuesday, December 3, resulting in reduced bus and train service. The workers are calling for the city government to resume talks with their union, which reportedly broke down on November 28. Talks have not resumed as of December 3.

Advice

Individuals in or traveling to Madrid are advised to monitor developments to the situation, anticipate public transportation disruptions, plan alternative modes of transportation, and allow additional time to travel.
