Hazardous air quality reported in Lahore December 11; situation to improve over the coming days

On Wednesday, December 11, hazardous air quality levels were recorded in Lahore (Punjab province), with an Air Quality Index (AQI) reading of 375 at 15:00 (local time). According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), rain and strong winds are forecast, which will improve air quality by Saturday, December 14.


An AQI reading of 0-50 is considered good, 51-100 moderate, and 101-200+ unhealthy.


Individuals present in Lahore are advised to monitor the situation, limit outdoor activities until the situation normalizes, and wear N95 rated masks as a protection. Children and those with chronic respiratory illnesses should exercise increased caution. Individuals are advised to seek medical attention if experiencing breathing difficulties or other health concerns.
