Authorities in Jakarta have announced a heightened security presence of approximately 1150 police personnel to secure New Year's Eve celebrations in the capital on Tuesday, December 31. Police officers will deploy along the Sudirman-MH Thamrin strip, with a particular focus on securing the HI Roundabout - where the provincial government is organizing its New Year celebration. Local officials also confirmed an increased security presence at several popular tourist destinations, including the National Monument and the Lapangan Banteng field.

Road closures and other transportation disruptions are expected in the capital on Tuesday, through Wednesday, January 1.
