Far-right groups plan to hold a series of events in Dresden (Saxony state) from Thursday, February 13, through Saturday, February 15, to commemorate the anniversary of the Dresden bombing in the Second World War. In response, groups opposing the far-right movements will organize counter-protests. On Wednesday, February 13, the opposition groups plan to gather from 16:00 to 23:00 (local time) in the Altmarkt area. Another related protest is set to start at 11:00 at Alaunpark on Saturday, February 15.
A heightened security presence and localized transportation disruptions are to be expected in the vicinity of the protests. Clashes between supporters of the diverse groups cannot be ruled out.
Individuals in Dresden are advised to monitor the situation, avoid all protests due to the risk of violence, and adhere to any instructions issued by the local authorities.
