On Wednesday, February 26, several public sector unions have called on its members to protest nationwide against the implementation of a new tax system on public sector employees. According to union officials, nationwide marches are scheduled on Saturday, March 7, and Tuesday, March 17, while a public sector strike will take place between Monday, March 16, and Friday, March 20 across the country.

A heightened security presence and localized transportation disruptions are expected in protest-affected areas on March 7, as well as a decrease in government services both on March 7 and 17, as well as during the strike period.
