Two rockets were launched in the vicinity of the Crossed Swords Monument in the International Zone (Baghdad) at 00:35 (local time) on Monday, March 2. No injuries were reported. While no group has claimed responsibility yet, previous similar rocket attacks have been attributed to shi'a militia groups.

Similar attacks targeting the International Zone are probable in the near term.

Individuals in Baghdad are advised to closely monitor the situation, avoid the affected area, and adhere to all instructions issued by the local authorities and their home governments.

The security environment in Iraq remains complex. Although travel is possible in some areas with proper security protocols in place, other areas should be considered strictly off limits. Professional security advice and support should be sought prior to all travel.
