A TGV train on the Strasbourg-Paris line derailed at approximately 07:30 (local time) on Thursday, March 5, outside of Saverne (Bas-Rhin department). According to initial reports, the train derailed after striking an object on the tracks. The driver reportedly suffered serious injuries and emergency personnel have deployed to the area. SNCF said that minimum service disruptions are expected, and trains are being diverted to other lines. Some residual rail disruptions are possible over the coming hours.
