Heavy rainfall caused a deadly landslide in Argelia (Cauca department) on Saturday, April 25, leaving at least three people dead and one injured, as well as damaging properties and infrastructure.

Further heavy rainfall is forecast, and consequent flooding and associated disruptions, including road closures, are to be expected in the affected area over the coming days.


Individuals in the affected area are advised to monitor local weather reports, avoid areas directly affected by flooding, confirm road conditions, anticipate transportation and business disruptions, and adhere to instructions issued by local authorities. Avoid walking or driving through floodwaters; 15 cm (6 in) of running water is enough to knock over an adult.
