Inbound flights to Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport (ANC) have been halted as of Saturday morning (local time), May 2, and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has closed the airspace due to a security incident. A cargo flight bound for Asia was diverted to ANC after reports indicated that an explosive device was on board the plane. Police and federal agents are conducting a security sweep of the aircraft.

Flights are expected to resume during the afternoon. Lingering flight disruptions, including cancelations and delays, are expected in the coming hours.
