Residents in Balkh district (Balkh province) confirmed at least nine civilians were killed and 11 others wounded following an airstrike on night (local time) on Monday, May 11. According to military officials, two airstrikes were launched in Balkh and Chahar Bolak districts on May 11, killing 17 Taliban members and wounding 13 others. Authorities stated that the Taliban members were targeted as they were planting mines along the road in preparation to attack Afghan forces. Security forces later arrested three of the injured Taliban members in the Pul-e-Imam area, Dihdadi district.
