As of Wednesday, May 13, heavy rainfall and associated flooding and landslides have killed at least two people in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) reported that a further eight have been injured and 14 houses damaged in the Lower Dir, Swat, Mardan, and Abbottabad districts

Further rainfall is expected in the short term; associated transportation disruptions are to be anticipated.  


Individuals in the affected areas are advised to monitor local weather reports, avoid areas directly affected by flooding, confirm road conditions, anticipate transportation and business disruptions, and adhere to instructions issued by local authorities. Avoid walking or driving through floodwaters; 15 cm (6 in) of running water is enough to knock over an adult.
