Community activists plan solidarity rally in Brunswick (Georgia state) on May 16; travel disruptions and heightened security presence possible

Community activists are set to hold a rally, ending in the city of Brunswick (Glynn County, Georgia state) on Saturday, May 16 in protest of the killing of a black man by a white father and son on February 23. The rally will begin at 07:30 (local time) at the state capital of Atlanta, where a caravan of vehicles will proceed to Brunswick. The protest will end at the Glynn County Courthouse at 14:00. Hundreds of people are expected to participate and organizers anticipate the caravan to grow as it travels throughout the state.


A heightened security presence and associated transportation disruptions are to be expected in the vicinity of the rally and along the route.
